The Importance of a Good Reputation

Reputation takes time to build and maintain but only takes a second to lose. Having a good reputation means having a great credibility which is advantageous in many ways, especially to your business. Doesn’t it feel good to know that people look up to you and respect you because of your good reputation?
An organisation’s reputation is based on its track record, and is a solid foundation for the future.  It serves as one of the company’s intangible assets and gives a potential edge among its competitors. Without a good reputation, an organisation couldn’t exist and tyhrive in a competitive industry like aesthetics.
Good reputation also keeps a business alive. One example of this is receiving lots of referrals and this means more customers. Isn’t that the chief goal of a business? To gain more loyal fans?
A business will be most likely achieve its financial goals by maintaining a good reputation. Word of mouth or referral is one of the best ways that you can market your business. When people say good things about you or your company, you’ll earn more potential customers. But not only that—having a good reputation gives you the chance to have the best employees sign up to work for you, and that’s another asset to your organisation.
A good reputation gives you the opportunity and advantage of charging a premium for providing outstanding products and services. So often, clients have worried about alienating customers by charging premium prices but time and again, they find that demand for their services just goes up.  “It must be worth it” is one of the consumer perceptions – along with “I want the best!”.  What does this mean? Your good reputation increases your business value – you are the first choice among your competitors.
When controversy arrives (and it frequently does, in aesthetics) a good reputation will help you to weather the storm . You can retain the support of your customers in the midst of chaos because you’re credible enough to keep their trust. And guess what? They will defend you. Nothing means more than having someone who has your back when you are in need.
In this world where competitors are everywhere, your company’s good reputation is what makes you different from all others. It can never be imitated, it can’t be replicated. So if you want to gain the trust of your customers, the public and the media, protect your image at all costs.  Do the right thing, even when no one is looking. That’s integrity!
