We do not seek to collect special category information (such as information about your health) through the Website. Please do not include it in your message to us unless it is necessary.

How we use your information and our lawful basis

We only use personal information where the law allows. Below are the main purposes and the lawful basis we rely on for each.

  • To respond to your enquiry or arrange a discovery call: our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • To deliver our PR services and manage client relationships: performance of our contract with you or your organisation, and our legitimate interests in running our business.
  • To contact journalists and media contacts with stories, comment and opportunities relevant to their work: our legitimate interests in carrying out media relations on behalf of our clients. You can ask us to stop at any time.
  • To send business contacts occasional updates about our services: our legitimate interests in promoting our business, in line with PECR. Every message includes a simple way to opt out.
  • To review job and work experience applications: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interests in recruiting.
  • To understand how our Website is used and measure our advertising: your consent, given through our cookie banner.
  • To keep financial records and meet our other legal and regulatory obligations: compliance with a legal obligation.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered whether those interests are outweighed by your rights and freedoms. You can ask us for more information about this.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary, with:

  • service providers who support our business, including our website developer and hosting provider, email and IT providers, media database and monitoring providers, booking and scheduling tools, accounting software and analytics providers for example Hi Digital, Linten, Microsoft, Cision, Calendly, Xero, Google;
  • our clients, where it is needed to deliver our services, for example sharing a journalist’s request so that a client can provide comment;
  • professional advisers, such as our accountants, lawyers and insurers;
  • regulators, law enforcement or other authorities, where we are required to by law; and
  • a buyer or successor, if our business is restructured or sold.

Our service providers act on our instructions and are required to keep your information secure.

International transfers

Some of our service providers, such as Google and Microsoft, may process personal information outside the UK. Where this happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum approved by the ICO.

How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy. As a guide:

  • enquiries that do not lead to work: 2 years from our last contact;
  • client and supplier records, including financial records: 6 years after our working relationship ends, to meet legal and tax requirements;
  • journalist and media contact details: for as long as they remain relevant to our work, reviewed annually;
  • unsuccessful job and work experience applications: 6 months, unless you agree to us keeping your details on file for longer.

Information collected through cookies is kept for the periods shown in the cookie table in our Cookie Policy.

Keeping your information secure

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including access controls, secure systems and regular maintenance of our Website. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to prevent loss, misuse or unauthorised access, and we will notify you and the ICO of a data breach where the law requires.

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;
